Program
Our Aim
Our mentorship program aims to help aspiring romance writers develop their craft, improve their skills, and achieve their writing goals. A mentorship program provides writers personalized guidance and feedback from an experienced mentor who is well-versed in the genre.
Who We Are
#SmoochPit is now a volunteer-run mentorship program. Published or agented authors will select one writer each to mentor. The mentors will review the selected candidate's manuscript and help polish it for our major pitch event. This year marks the third event, and we aspire to create a romantic movement for the future. Four romance authors — Christine, a Nigerian-American; Busayo, a Nigerian-Brit; Vanessa, a Ghanaian-Brit; and Amy Barber — came together to create an avenue for romance enthusiasts.

SmoochPit Mentors 2024
We can't wait to share the mentor list for our 2024 #SmoochPit Mentorship Program. Mentors will surf through the list of applications to find a potential mentee. The requirements for the mentee application would be a query letter, synopsis, and the first ten pages of their manuscript.
