BIO:

Taylor Moore is a queer fantasy, horror, and sometimes romance writer who mostly writes about feminine rage and god complexes. She got her start as a poet, and her books tend to feature Korean main characters, fat positive representation, and mental health issues written responsibly. When she’s not setting her air fryer on fire (which only happened twice), she’s busy making oddly-specific Spotify playlists to complete her collection.

MSWL:

I’m on the hunt for fantasy, sci-fi, horror, and anything weird. Genre-bending stories with a focus on character are my jam. I’m mostly looking in the adult space, but if you’ve got NA or YA and it’s SFF or something funky, send it my way! I’m also open to reading outside these constraints if you feel we would be a good match for this mentorship.

Things I really want to see:

*QUEER and/or BIPOC CHARACTERS! Especially sapphic romances!
*Neurodivergent, disabled, and mentally ill characters, written responsibly!
*Dark or heavy topics that are handled with care (and please include trigger warnings)
*Anything weird, vibe-y, non-categorical, cannot be conveyed through mainstream comps or constraints.
*Horror! Blood! Gore! but also Joy! Humor! Hijinks! I love dark themes as much as I love happy books—separately, or together!
*More spicy or smutty scenes! I love books with no sex, and I love books with lots of sex. Would love to see something kink-friendly!

Comps I LOVE:

Killing Eve
Fleabag
Poor Things
ATLA/LOK
The Queen’s Gambit
Any K-drama/K-pop comp
Any Ghibli film
Shakespeare, but unique and fun
Music comps, like ETHEL CAIN or MITSKI (or even Omar Apollo’s new album, slay)
Video game comps, like FINAL FANTASY or FALLOUT
Anime comps, like NEON GENESIS EVANGELION and UTENA
Bingsu for Two by Sujin Witherspoon
Hannah Whitten
Ali Hazelwood
Sarah Hawley

Tropes I adore: (if your book doesn’t have these, that’s totally fine! this is just another way to see what I vibe with.)

*Enemies-to-lovers - please god give me more enemies/rivals/hated/forced proximity lovers!
*Yearning - slow burn, longing, pining… even better if one thinks it's unrequited hehe
*Fake dating - I don’t care why they have to fake it, I just want it
*Love triangles - but also polyamory!
*Forbidden love - with a disclaimer that this doesn’t mean anything taboo, please.
*Touch-them-and-you-die - SQUEE!!
*Second chance or sworn off love - please give me all the reasons to believe in love
*Fate - whether this be they’re fated to be together, or whether fate tears them apart. Give me couples who shouldn’t be together but beat odds to do it anyway.
*Hurt/comfort and angst - if it is going to make me scream and punch my pillows, I want it.

I’m not a good fit for:

*On page rape, sexual assault, or domestic abuse. (If off-page, that’s fine! Please include trigger warnings.)
*Fat characters who aren’t self-confident (to a detrimental point)
*Stories about weight loss or eating disorders

MENTORING STYLE

I will never, ever tear you down—but I will also not lie to you if I think something isn’t working to its absolute potential! This is a collaboration where both of us are at the table and talking. While I may bring up suggestions, you never have to take them. Rather, I’d like to discuss and for you to use me as a partner to fix whatever problem areas your manuscript has. My goal is to help you throughout the whole process. Whether that means video chats, phone calls, or emailing—and even messaging me when you have a question or need some cheerleading—I’m here to guide you in the right direction however best suits your needs.

APPLICATIONS FROM CONNECTIONS

PLEASE DO NOT APPLY TO ME IF we’ve shared ANY work with one another, critiqued each other, or if we’ve had extensive interactions online. If we are mutuals or share Discord servers but have not spoken extensively, feel free to apply!
